Connors on Sinner and Alcaraz: "It is time for someone to come and challenge them"
Jimmy Connors spoke about the overwhelming domination of the ATP tour by Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz. He laments the fact that there is, for the moment, no competitor to these two players.
In remarks reported by Tennis World Italia, he stated: "It is time for someone to come and challenge them. But on the other hand, it's not their fault. I always hate going back to the same example, but my former manager Bill Reardon always said that when you reach the final of a Grand Slam tournament, there are 126 losers, then there is you and your opponent.
He was right. Unless someone steps up and challenges these guys, they will continue to dominate. For now, no one is doing it. The major events, the key matches, the ones that attract the general public and sell the most tickets, all feature both of them."
