Davis Cup 2025: Italy ends the year at the top of the team rankings, France 8th
Italy has won the Davis Cup for the third consecutive season. In Bologna last week, captain Filippo Volandri's team dominated Austria, Belgium, and then Spain in the final to triumph at home, thanks in particular to the work of Matteo Berrettini and Flavio Cobolli, who delighted in singles throughout the week.
Despite the absences of Jannik Sinner and Lorenzo Musetti, the Squadra Azzurra thus confirmed its superiority in the competition for the third time in a row. In the team rankings, Italy logically retains its first place, ahead of Germany, a semifinalist in the last two seasons, and Spain on the third step of the podium.
Australia and Belgium complete the top 5. Finalists last year, the Netherlands are 6th, ahead of the United States (7th), the most decorated nation in Davis Cup history, and France (8th). Canada (9th), Argentina, and the Czech Republic (10th tied) complete the top 10.
