Connors: "Zverev can really win a Grand Slam"
Jimmy Connors, the legend with 8 Majors, still believes in Sascha Zverev winning a Grand Slam. In his podcast, the American shares his analysis.
At 73 years old, Jimmy Connors is one of the greatest legends in world tennis. And this week, in a new episode of his podcast "Advantage Connors," the former world number one decided to tackle a hot topic: Alexander Zverev's eternal quest for a Grand Slam title.
"He has 95% of everything he wants... except a Grand Slam. He is at a point in his career where he must sacrifice everything if he wants to cross that final hurdle. He makes a lot of money, he has fame, recognition... but he must rediscover the hunger, the desire, the fire.
When he hangs up his racket, he will look back and say: I had everything... except the most important thing. If his time is to come, it must be now. Because tomorrow, it might be too late. The reason I like talking about Zverev is because I truly believe he can do it."
At a time when the spotlight is turning to the new generations, Jimmy Connors reminds us that Zverev's Grand Slam story is not over yet.
