Davidovich Fokina on his defeat in the Delray Beach final despite 2 match points: "This is tennis".
Alejandro Davidovich Fokina went through all kinds of emotions in his final at the ATP 250 tournament in Delray Beach against Miomir Kecmanovic.
The Spaniard had the break in the third set and even had two match points on the Serb's serve. On the first of these, he hit a forehand that was off by just a few millimeters.
He was then debreaked and went on to lose 7-5. He said: "Tennis puts you in your place.
I would have liked to have won, but it didn't happen and Miomir deserved it too. It was a very demanding match, and that's what tennis is all about.
Now it's time to rest, I hope the first title of the year will finally come."
