Davidovich Fokina reacts to Rublev's disqualification in Dubai: "We need VAR in tennis".
Russia's Andrey Rublev was disqualified in the semi-finals of the ATP 500 Dubai. Facing Alexander Bublik, the world number 5 broke down mentally, following an altercation with a linesman. Rublev allegedly hurled insults in Russian at a linesman. This disqualification is gaining a lot of momentum as players are starting to react to the incident. Such is the case of Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, who was eliminated in the quarter-finals of the tournament, and who expressed his views on his X account.
"It's very unfair that they disqualified Rublev without first making sure that what the linesman understood was correct. We need VAR in tennis," said the world No. 24.
