Davis Cup - Italy beat Argentina in decisive doubles to reach the semi-finals!

The Italian pair of Matteo Berrettini and Jannik Sinner beat doubles specialists Maximo Gonzalez and Andrés Molteni (6-4, 7-5) to reach the Davis Cup semi-finals.

After Sinner's express success against Baez, Italy captain Filippo Volandri decided to change his strategy for the doubles.

Instead of the Bolelli / Vavassori pair, present at the Masters last week, Matteo Berrettini and Jannik Sinner took to the court in Malaga.

A choice that paid off, as the two players, renowned for their powerful shots and quality of service, got the better of the Argentine pair in two sets.

Berrettini had a tricky first service game (a break point saved right from the start), but after that, the two Italians were never troubled again on their serves.

Italy will continue defending its title tomorrow in the semi-finals against Australia, who qualified earlier in the day thanks to a win over the USA.
