Davis Cup - Mpetshi Perricard called up for France against Brazil!
On February 1 and 2, the French team will play the 1st round of the Davis Cup in Orléans against Joao Fonseca's Brazil.
With less than a month to go, captain Paul-Henri Mathieu has unveiled the list of players selected.
Unsurprisingly, Ugo Humbert, French No.1, Arthur Fils and Pierre-Hugues Herbert for the doubles will be present to play this weekend.
However, the small surprise came in the form of Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard's first selection for Les Bleus, who was called up as a reinforcement in view of his excellent results at the start of the season, including a semi-final in Brisbane.
The playing conditions in Orléans (hard indoor) should also be very favorable to his style of play, as we saw when he won the title in Basel at the end of last season.
Paul-Henri Mathieu has specified that a fifth player will be called up for this Davis Cup encounter after the Australian Open.
