The USA didn't miss the chance to qualify for the second round of the Davis Cup play-offs.

The most successful nation in the competition's history (32 titles) was without its main stars (Taylor Fritz, Ben Shelton, Frances Tiafoe, Tommy Paul, Sebastian Korda, etc.), but easily overcame Taiwan.

In Taipei, on the home turf of the Taiwanese capital, it was Marcos Giron who got his team off to the perfect start.

Facing Tseng Chun-Hsin (6-2, 6-2), the 43rd player in the world wasted no time. Alex Michelsen followed in his compatriot's footsteps. He defeated Wu Tung-Lin (7-6, 6-3).

At the end of the first day, the USA are already just one win away from qualification.

In doubles, the solid pairing of Austin Krajicek and Rajeev Ram outclassed the pairing of Ho Ray and Wu Tung-Lin (6-4, 7-6) to confirm their country's definitive victory.

Mackenzie McDonald then took to the court in the fourth match, dominating Huang Tsung-Hao (6-2, 6-3) to give his country a fourth consecutive win.

In September, in the second round of the play-offs, the USA will face the winner of the match between South Korea and the Czech Republic.

The European nation leads 2-0 at the end of the first day.

Hello I'm new

2j

I am surprised about relatively low attendance at Roland Garros which was the most popular slam 20+ years ago. I myself love it as well as really loving aus and us opens. I don't care about Wimbledon, sometimes maybe I can watch women's tennis. I hate Wimbledon's white dress code, I feel like I am watching junior tennis...I watched very few matches like Graf davenport final in 1999 the last time.....

It will really be befitting if he attains his 25th Grand Slam crown at the AO for he's truly the GOAT & this will stamp him & endorse his GOAT status without an iota of doubt

Almost as important to Djokovic as Slam #25--and requiring less luck--is beating Federer's total of 103 singles titles. He'll play 250s, and might even surpass Connors's 109.
