Defending Champion Bencic and Eala Confirmed for the 2026 Abu Dhabi WTA 500 Tournament

The Abu Dhabi WTA 500 tournament will welcome Belinda Bencic and Alexandra Eala next February for the 5th edition of the Emirati tournament.

The Abu Dhabi tournament will be organized on the WTA tour for the fifth time. After 2021, 2023, 2024, and 2025, some of the world's best players will return to the United Arab Emirates. If Aryna Sabalenka (2021) and Elena Rybakina (2024) have won the tournament, the same goes for Belinda Bencic.

The world No. 11 has won this tournament twice (2023 and 2025). Earlier in the year, she eliminated Rebecca Sramkova, Veronika Kudermetova, Marketa Vondrousova, Elena Rybakina, and Ashlyn Krueger to claim the title. Bencic, who enjoys this tournament, will thus return to Abu Dhabi from February 1 to 7 next year, and will attempt to achieve the three-peat.

Another player confirmed for the 2026 edition is Alexandra Eala. The world No. 50, who reached the semifinals of the WTA 1000 in Miami this season and is comfortable on hard courts, will also be in the mix. Other players who will compete in the Abu Dhabi tournament will be announced in the coming weeks.
