Denolly Scores First Victory in an ATP Main Draw
Corentin Denolly, ranked 328th in the world, secured his first win in the main draw of an ATP tournament by defeating Holt (115th) in the first round of the Houston tournament (7-6, 7-6).
The Frenchman had previously beaten his compatriot Mannarino in the second round of qualifying (6-4, 5-7, 7-6). He notably told *L’Équipe*:
"I was super happy, I played a really great match," Denolly said on Monday. "Manna," even though we know he's been struggling a bit (four wins in 2025), is very, very tough to play against.
"I spent the entire third set on the verge of cramps because the humidity was insane. Winning under those conditions, in a battle, down a break in the third... I came back from far behind."
Denolly will face Kovacevic in the second round.
