The UTS in Nîmes as an explanation for the weakness of this week's tournaments

The UTS in Nîmes as an explanation for the weakness of this week's tournaments

This week, the ATP tournaments in Houston, Marrakech, and Bucharest are taking place. For these three ATP 250 events, no Top 30 player is present in Marrakech or Bucharest.

Meanwhile, Houston is dealing with the absence of Ben Shelton, the defending champion. The American chose instead to compete in the UTS tournament in Nîmes, organized by Patrick Mouratoglou.

Thus, a significant portion of the Top 20 is in the South of France this week, as—in addition to Shelton—Gaël Monfils, Taylor Fritz, Alex de Minaur, Andrey Rublev, Ugo Humbert, Casper Ruud, and Holger Rune are all present.
