Grigor Dimitrov's 2024 season may not be over yet. The Bulgarian may have narrowly missed out on qualification for the Masters (finishing 10th at the Race), but he still has a chance of playing on center court in Turin.
He appeared in training today for the first time this week, with the status of first reserve. Last year, Hubert Hurkacz had the opportunity to play a match following the withdrawal of Stefanos Tsitsipas.
And in 2021, two substitutes were even called up to the rescue: Cameron Norrie and Jannik Sinner.
Dimitrov may therefore have a chance of playing at least one match in this Masters, especially after a 2024 season that has tested players physically and mentally.
