Djokovic confesses: "I don't feel like I'm at this level".
Novak Djokovic has nothing to be ashamed of in his performance.
Injured at Roland Garros, the Serb not only managed to line up at Wimbledon, but also reached the final.
Djokovic, who was soundly beaten by Alcaraz in Sunday's final (6-2, 6-2, 7-6), opened up about his current state of mind. Very candidly, he admitted he wasn't playing well enough to compete with these players, at least for the time being: "Reaching the Wimbledon final gives me great confidence. But I also have the feeling that, facing today (Sunday) the best player in the world at the moment, with Jannik Sinner, that I'm not at that level.
To have a chance of beating these players in the Grand Slams or the Olympics, I'm going to have to play a lot better and feel a lot better than I did today.
It's not something I've ever experienced in my life... In the face of adversity, I normally pick myself up, learn and get stronger. That's what I'm going to do!"
