Djokovic Honest About His Chances in a Major: I have much more doubt about being able to win another Grand Slam

Tennis legend Novak Djokovic has set one final goal before retiring: to win a 25th Grand Slam title. A task that is becoming increasingly difficult, especially due to the presence of the two best current players, Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz.

Will Djokovic manage to win another Grand Slam? The Serbian, now 38 years old, hasn't lifted a single Major title since the 2023 US Open. Since the start of last season, Djokovic has run into Sinner and Alcaraz, who have won the last eight Grand Slams.

Although he reached the semi-finals of all Majors this year, the world No. 4 is not giving up and wants to try his luck again next year, but he knows it won't be easy. If he manages to triumph, he will in any case become the oldest man in the Open Era to win a Grand Slam, as the current record is held by Ken Rosewall, who won the 1972 Australian Open at 37 years, 2 months, and 1 day old.

"I am aware that if we put their best level against my current best level... They are better, that's the reality. Throughout my career, I have always worked to be able to achieve impossible things. At the same time, I am nearly 39 years old and the wear and tear is very real.

Yes, I have much more doubt about being able to win another Grand Slam, especially because of Sinner and Alcaraz. But as long as I am playing, when I step onto the court, I don't care who is on the other side of the net: I always think I am better and capable of winning. I just hope to keep my body healthy," Djokovic stated in an interview with Piers Morgan.
