Djokovic: "I want to draw inspiration from LeBron James, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Tom Brady"

At 38, Djokovic isn't talking about transition, but expansion. Drawing inspiration from global icons like LeBron James, Cristiano Ronaldo, or Tom Brady, the former world No. 1 states, in a discussion during the Six Kings Slam, that he wants to witness the transformation of his sport as a player.
When Max Kellerman, a prominent American host, suggested that the new generation should keep fighting and that he wasn't going to retire just yet, Djokovic retorted:
"That won't be the case yet, sorry (laughs). Longevity is one of my biggest motivations. I want to see how far I can go. If you look at other sports: LeBron James, he's still at the top and he's forty. Cristiano Ronaldo too. Tom Brady played when he was forty as well.
It's incredible. They inspire me. I want to keep going, that's my main motivation. I also want to experience the change in our sport and I'm super excited about that. I think in the coming years, tennis is also a sport that could be greatly transformed. So I want to be part of that change."
