Djokovic masters Mensik in Shanghai

Novak Djokovic didn't go anywhere on Friday, but he did secure the essential: a victory and a place in the semi-finals of the Shanghai Masters 1000.

Faced with a surprising Jakub Mensik, who had already beaten Rublev and Dimitrov this week, the Serb needed a little time to find the solution.

After losing the first game in a tie-break (7-6), he dominated the second set before holding off a spirited opponent in the final set to win (6-7, 6-1, 6-4).

More solid in the exchange than Mensik and, above all, far more effective on the important points, Djokovic will now meet Taylor Fritz in the semi-finals.

I propose the following changes to the rules:

1...a walķover will not be a loss. We have no control of player's health. If he or she is entered in a contest we expect them to play.

2...an incomplete match is not a loss. If a player forfeits we pick another match if there are more to choose.

3...this also applies if TT cancels a match. TT will not take hours to decide an outcome.

It's a shame that so many matches are being canceled. TT ,you are destroying your game ,and thereby killing your app. I don't know how many matches others have had canceled , but I'm at 3 and it's only thursday.
