Djokovic names the best of his career: My tennis was exceptional that day

At 38 years old, the world number one continues to revisit the greatest chapters of his legend. In an interview for the ATP, Novak Djokovic named the 2019 Australian Open final against Nadal as his "perfect match," the one where everything seemed under control.

On the sidelines of the Athens tournament, Novak Djokovic gave an interview to the ATP, answering various questions about his legendary career.

When asked about the best match he ever played, Djokovic revealed that the 2019 Australian Open final was the first encounter that came to his mind.

"It would probably be that match against Rafael Nadal. That day, my tennis was at an exceptional level."

At the time, the Serb had overwhelmed one of his greatest rivals with a score of 6-3, 6-2, 6-3 in 2 hours of play, winning his 15th Grand Slam and his 7th Australian Open title at that moment.

Nadal was past his prime and on his way out that year. Didn't play well.
Anyway Djokovic never beat Federer in a final at the AO.
