Djokovic qualifies for his 143rd career final
Victorious over Fucsovics and Arnaldi, Djokovic was now facing the world number 90, Norrie. Just days before the French Open, the Serbian was trying to regain some rhythm after a very challenging clay-court season.
Performing well in the first set, the former world number one displayed an impressive first-serve point win percentage of 95%. He also hit 6 aces. The second set was much more contested, with both players neck and neck until the Briton won in the tiebreak (8-6). Nonetheless, Djokovic was not distracted and swept aside his opponent in the deciding set (6-4, 6-7, 6-1). The match lasted 2h14.
For 20 years, the Serbian has reached several finals on the ATP circuit every year. At just 38 years old, he has secured the 143rd final of his career and the first on clay in 2025. Against Hurkacz, he will aim for his 100th title.
