Djokovic reassures: "The operation went well".
Novak Djokovic underwent meniscus surgery on his right knee on Wednesday. Forfeited for the quarter-finals at Roland-Garros, he was quick to make his decision and had the operation performed. This will enable him to return to the courts for the Paris Olympic Games tennis tournament (July 27 - August 4).
On Thursday, he took to X (Twitter) to reassure his fans: "I had to make some tough decisions after tearing my meniscus in my last match (win over Cerundolo, 6-1, 5-7, 3-6, 7-5, 6-3). I'm still assimilating everything, but I'm happy to report that the operation went well.
I'm so grateful to the team of doctors who have been by my side and for the overwhelming support I've received from my fans. I'm going to do my best to be healthy and fit enough to get back on the court as soon as possible.
My love for the sport is strong and the desire to play at the highest level is what motivates me. Idemo!"
