The Madrid tournament confirmed on X the participation of Novak Djokovic.

The three-time winner of this Masters 1000 event in 2011, 2016, and 2019 is returning to the Spanish capital for the first time since 2022.

He last left the Spanish crowd in 2022 after his semifinal defeat against Carlos Alcaraz.

Since then, the Serbian has prioritized the Rome tournament and shortened his clay-court season.

This participation in Madrid may also raise questions about his potential entry in Rome. An answer will come in the coming days.

I propose the following changes to the rules:

1...a walķover will not be a loss. We have no control of player's health. If he or she is entered in a contest we expect them to play.

2...an incomplete match is not a loss. If a player forfeits we pick another match if there are more to choose.

3...this also applies if TT cancels a match. TT will not take hours to decide an outcome.
