Draper Becomes Second Left-Hander to Enter Top 5 in the 21st Century
Jack Draper confirmed his strong progress on clay by reaching the semifinals of the Madrid Masters 1000 this Thursday after defeating Matteo Arnaldi.
The Briton, who won Indian Wells earlier this year, will officially break into the Top 5 next Monday, achieving a career-high ranking of world No. 5. He will also become the second left-handed player to join the Top 5 in the 21st century after Rafael Nadal.
This milestone comes exactly twenty years after Nadal first entered the Top 5. The Spaniard achieved the feat in May 2005, while Draper will do so in May 2025.
