Draper still on cloud nine after his title at Indian Wells: "Such success means a lot to me"

Jack Draper won the biggest title of his career on the main tour at the Indian Wells Masters 1000. The Brit concluded a perfect run against Holger Rune in a controlled final (6-2, 6-2). Before that, he had defeated Fonseca, Brooksby, Fritz, Shelton, and Alcaraz.
However, the player who reached the 7th spot in the world rankings after the Californian tournament must now move on. At the Miami tournament, Draper will face Roberto Bautista Agut or Jakub Mensik. In a press conference, he reflected on his triumph in California and hopes it will help him for the rest of his season.
"I'm very proud of what I achieved at Indian Wells. It's been a long and tough journey with my team to get here, and it was great to share that moment with them. I've faced a lot of adversity, ups and downs over the years.
Naturally, such success means a lot to me. I think it's a reward for all the hard work I've been putting in for a long time. I'm sure every young tennis player has felt this at some point.
You walk into the locker room and you're surrounded by these players you've watched on TV for years and admired. You feel like you don't belong, but by beating the top players, you realize you can be one of them.
I don't yet know what I'll be capable of in the future, but everything I'm experiencing is giving me a lot of confidence," he shared in Florida, embracing his new status.
