Griekspoor Withdraws from Miami, Diallo Enters Main Draw

Bad news for Tallon Griekspoor. The Dutchman, who had been delivering strong performances in recent weeks with a semifinal at the ATP 500 tournament in Dubai (after defeating Humbert and Medvedev) followed by a quarterfinal at the Indian Wells Masters 1000 (where he eliminated Zverev in the second round), will not be present in Miami.
The world No. 34 announced his withdrawal after the draw due to a right ankle injury. Originally set to face Tomas Martin Etcheverry in the first round, the 28-year-old has been replaced in the draw by Gabriel Diallo.
The Canadian, who had lost in the final round of qualifying to American player Brandon Holt, has been granted a spot in the main draw as a lucky loser and will now face the Argentine this Thursday in the first round.
Eliminated in the third round last year by Jannik Sinner in the same Miami tournament, Griekspoor temporarily drops two places in the rankings pending the continuation of the tournament.
The Haarlem native joins the list of withdrawals for the 2025 edition in Florida. The tournament had already confirmed the injury-related absences of Thanasi Kokkinakis, Zhang Zhizhen, Arthur Cazaux, Nicolas Jarry, and Shang Juncheng (in addition to Jannik Sinner, who remains suspended for three months).
