Zverev, Fritz, Shelton, and Humbert Announced for the ATP 500 Tournament in Munich
This year, the Munich tournament is part of the ATP 500 category and will take place the same week as Barcelona, a tournament that will also feature several top ATP players. Despite this, a strong field will be present in Bavaria this year.
World number 2 Alexander Zverev will be competing in this home clay-court tournament. A two-time winner in 2017 and 2018, the German will aim for a third crown, which would allow him to join Philipp Kohlschreiber for the most titles won in Munich.
To prepare well for the clay-court season, Taylor Fritz (last year's finalist), Ben Shelton, Félix Auger-Aliassime, and Hubert Hurkacz will also be present in Munich this year.
Specialists of the surface, such as Matteo Berrettini, Francisco Cerundolo, and Nicolas Jarry, among others, are expected to participate.
On the French side, Ugo Humbert, Alexandre Muller, and Gaël Monfils will be in attendance. Jan-Lennard Struff, the 2024 champion who claimed his first ATP title at this very tournament last year, will attempt to defend his points on this occasion.
