While the WTA 1000 in Rome is in full swing, the Trophée Clarins will begin on Tuesday at the Lagardère Paris Racing club, located in the Bois de Boulogne in Paris.

This tournament, now in its fourth edition, will feature Amanda Anisimova as the top seed after receiving a last-minute wildcard from the organizers. The world No. 17, following early exits in the second round at Madrid and Rome, will look to build confidence on the Parisian clay.

She will start her campaign against Yuliia Starodubtseva. At the bottom of the draw, Katie Boulter is the No. 2 seed and will open against Erika Andreeva, the older sister of Mirra.

Five French players will compete in the main draw. Varvara Gracheva, France’s top-ranked player for several weeks now, will face a qualifier. Chloé Paquet will take on Kimberly Birrell, Diane Parry will challenge Hailey Baptiste, and Julie Belgraver will play against Lulu Sun.

Finally, 16-year-old Ksenia Efremova, regarded as one of the brightest prospects in French women’s tennis, has been granted a wildcard and will begin her tournament against world No. 85 Kamila Rakhimova.

This extends all the way to the highest level, where professional players have spoken out, trying as best they can to help their nation.

As we move to the end of this month and also closing out the year I am wishing all of those following me a Merry Christmas and a Happy/Healthy New Year.

Let's make that wish for all 2000 plus players hoping for 5 wins each day. Hoping ŵhen we open the results page to see all green, and no red. And especially NO CANCELED matches.

From me and my rotti JAZ, I bid you all good night, and see you in...

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Chwalinska and Huergo at the Quito tournament? The match was played to completion and on time. If TT feels the match is one sided, and of course it was, then don't put it up for prediction. This is getting irritating.

The finals are here, and we scramble for the best finish. I've been chasing "King" all year and I was able to shrink the spread a little. Skelp is also closing the gap.

Seasons best to all the regulars in our league.

Will you all be back in the new year.?

Steffi Graf completed a Golden Slam (not just a career Grand Slam) when she was 19. She is the only person to accomplish that, winning the four majors plus Olympic gold the same calendar year.
