Draw of the WTA 1000 in Montreal: Gauff seeded No. 1 in the absence of Sabalenka, Swiatek and Keys in the same quarter of the draw

The draw for the WTA 1000 tournament in Montreal was held this Saturday.
Coco Gauff finds herself seeded No. 1 following Aryna Sabalenka's withdrawal due to fatigue. The Roland-Garros winner could face Danielle Collins in her opening match if Collins gets past the first round against a qualifier. In the round of 16, she might face Diana Shnaider, before a potential quarterfinal against Jasmine Paolini.
Already back in competition after her Wimbledon title, Iga Swiatek is positioned at the bottom of the draw with an opening match against Yulia Putintseva or a qualifier. Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova could face her in the third round, before a possible round of 16 against Clara Tauson. In the quarterfinals, Swiatek might meet Madison Keys, who defeated her in the semifinals of the last Australian Open.
Mirra Andreeva wasn't fortunate with the draw, as she will make her debut against Barbora Krejcikova or Bianca Andreescu. Leylah Fernandez, a semifinalist in Washington, is also in her section of the draw. Elena Rybakina or Emma Navarro could be her opponents if she reaches the quarterfinals.
The last quarter of the draw includes Amanda Anisimova, a finalist at Wimbledon, and Jessica Pegula. Anisimova will start against Sorana Cirstea or Lulu Sun, while Pegula will face Maria Sakkari or Carson Branstine.
Eugenie Bouchard, who will retire after the tournament, will face Emiliana Arango. If she qualifies, she would then play against Belinda Bencic.
