"Each of us needs someone who pushes us to surpass ourselves," says Sinner about Alcaraz

The Jannik Sinner-Carlos Alcaraz rivalry has already taken over from the Big 3 on the tour. The two best players in the world have won the last seven Grand Slam titles since the start of the 2024 season.
The Italian and the Spaniard faced off in the Roland-Garros final in June and then again at Wimbledon in recent days. One thing is certain: the two men are firmly established at the top of tennis, and it will take a lot to dethrone them.
Moreover, Sinner, who claimed his 4th Grand Slam title in London, spoke about his rivalry with Alcaraz, stating that the Spaniard's level pushes him to raise his game every day.
"Every match has its own story. I was very close in Paris, but Carlos (Alcaraz) makes me a better tennis player. When you lose so many times to someone, you have to work hard to change the outcome, and I’m happy I managed to do that at Wimbledon.
With Carlos, we already have a great rivalry on the court, but we also share a real friendship off it. Each of us needs someone who pushes us to go beyond our limits, and every time we step onto the court, we try to beat our rival, even though I have great respect for him.
Winning at Wimbledon is an incredible feeling. For 24 hours, I wasn’t fully aware of what I had achieved, but now I realize how truly special it is. My whole family was there, and celebrating this title with them and my team was amazing," Sinner concluded to AS.
