Evert defends Swiatek: "I can understand".
Iga Swiatek has been the center of attention for several days.
Indeed, ever since she voiced strong criticism of the WTA calendar, which she deems too crowded, many people have been giving their opinion on the subject.
While some have been highly critical of the world number 1's comments, one of the leading legends of women's tennis, Chris Evert, has been very supportive of the Pole.
Evert said: "I can certainly understand Iga Swiatek's concern about playing too many tournaments, especially when you're playing top-level tournaments every week.
When you add in the Olympics and the increased depth of the game, it's a big issue."
