Novak Djokovic has been in New York for several days now, preparing calmly for the defense of the title he won last year.

Irresistible during his Olympic triumph in Paris, Djokovic logically arrives in the guise of the obvious favorite to attempt to defer his 25th Major title.

Asked about this, smiling Chris Evert declared that he needed this 25th crown if he wanted to retire: "I think if he wins his 25th major, he'll quit the game.

I mean, I don't know, he'd break that tie with Margaret Court. He's won the Olympics. He's still going to face some very tough competition.

Can he do it twice in a row, at the Olympics and the US Open?

I'll allow him to retire after that, I'll say, 'Okay, you're allowed to retire from everybody'.

It would be epic if he could do that. But he's a very motivated person, more so than anyone I've ever seen."

Margaret Court.....hahahahahaha.
Look up history please. Many of hers were the Australian Open when few foreigners even played that event. MC lost 6261 to Bobby Riggs in 1973 when she was ranked number 2 in the world, when he was a 55 year old man. Enough equating ATP and WTA Chris. Not even close....

No one equated the WTA to ATP, all she said is winning the US Open would break the tie with Margaret Court. Also making fun of Margaret Court is hysterical considering the fact she has 64 Grand Slams between singles, doubles, and mixed doubles which is a record that probably won’t get touched. Kind of hard to ridicule her for winning most of her titles at Australia when Novak has done the same thing

History doesn't need to be looked up. If you were around and watching tennis at the time Margaret Court Smith was winning her titles, you wouldn't be making any such comparisons today. Tennis in those days was quite different to todays game. Every era is different and the challenges can't be compared between them. Margaret Court Smith at her time was probably just as good against women as Novak Djokovic is today against men. What's the use of making any comparisons anyway ?

He will continue to play until convinced he can no longer reach the majors semis, as anyone would in my view.

As we move to the end of this month and also closing out the year I am wishing all of those following me a Merry Christmas and a Happy/Healthy New Year.

Let's make that wish for all 2000 plus players hoping for 5 wins each day. Hoping ŵhen we open the results page to see all green, and no red. And especially NO CANCELED matches.

From me and my rotti JAZ, I bid you all good night, and see you in...

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Chwalinska and Huergo at the Quito tournament? The match was played to completion and on time. If TT feels the match is one sided, and of course it was, then don't put it up for prediction. This is getting irritating.

The finals are here, and we scramble for the best finish. I've been chasing "King" all year and I was able to shrink the spread a little. Skelp is also closing the gap.

Seasons best to all the regulars in our league.

Will you all be back in the new year.?

Steffi Graf completed a Golden Slam (not just a career Grand Slam) when she was 19. She is the only person to accomplish that, winning the four majors plus Olympic gold the same calendar year.
