Facing Sabalenka, Collins knows what to expect: There won't be many surprises in this match

Danielle Collins never stops bluffing her world in 2024. Since announcing that she would end her career at the end of the season, she has been unstoppable (19 wins in 20 matches). If she is to reach the final, however, the American will have to overcome a mountain named Aryna Sabalenka. Collins has never won against the world number 2 (in 5 matches), although she came close in Madrid (6-4, 4-6, 6-3).

Asked about this upcoming rematch (this Thursday, not before 8.30pm), Collins knows what to expect - a big fight. In a statement relayed by Tennis Channel, she explains: "There won't be many surprises in this match. We only played each other a few days ago, but I'm still going to take a look at some of our past matches. We've always had a great rivalry. There have been matches decided by little details. Most of the time, they were three-set battles. She played very well, she's one of the best in the world, currently n°2. I'll have to get back on the court with the fire lit."
