Fils sweeps Rublev and awaits Alcaraz in Monte-Carlo quarterfinals

Arthur Fils delivered a magnificent performance to eliminate Andrey Rublev in the round of 16 at Monte-Carlo.
The Russian was nowhere to be seen in the first set, which Fils won 6-2 in just 28 minutes.
In the second set, the Frenchman managed an early break, but Rublev immediately broke back, giving himself a glimmer of hope that was quickly extinguished.
In the end, Fils triumphed 6-2, 6-3 and will face the winner between Daniel Altmaier and Carlos Alcaraz in the quarterfinals.
In his post-match interview, he said: "Andrey is a great champion, I had to play my best tennis to stand a chance. I’m very happy with how I played and how I moved.
I don’t necessarily think I can beat everyone, but I played well and I feel good. Before this season, I had never reached a Masters 1000 quarterfinal, and now I’ve made three in a row."
