Fognini Takes Alcaraz to a Fifth Set at Wimbledon!

The matchup between Fabio Fognini and Carlos Alcaraz seemed lopsided on paper, but the 38-year-old Italian put up a fight and will play a fifth set (7-5, 6-7, 7-5, 2-6) against the two-time defending Wimbledon champion.
Alcaraz had narrowly taken the first set 7-5, but he was too erratic in the second set with 20 unforced errors. Fognini leveled the match at one set apiece after winning a tie-break 7-5.

A poor service game from the Italian at 6-5 in the third set allowed the world No. 2 to regain control. However, Fognini refused to back down and dominated the fourth set.
The first match of the tournament on Centre Court will now go to an unexpected fifth set, but one that promises to be thrilling and full of suspense.
