Fonseca Explains Reasons for His Absence During the Asian Tour

Joao Fonseca is making his return to competition at the Brussels tournament where he will make his debut against Botic van de Zandschulp. The Brazilian had not played since the Laver Cup on September 20.

Absent during the Asian tour, he explained the reasons in an interview given to ESPN Brazil: "I was suffering from sinusitis, and we preferred to stay cautious to recover well and be at 100% for the European indoor circuit. I am completely recovered and eager to show my best tennis here."

Fonseca is also registered for the tournaments in Basel, Paris, and Athens.
