Fonseca on Masters Next Gen prize money: Luckily my parents are going to help me with this.

Joao Fonseca won the Masters Next Gen on Sunday after five days of competition in which he dominated his peers and remained unbeaten.

Thanks to this title and his victories during the group phase, he will leave Jeddah with the handsome sum of 500,000 dollars (around 480,000 euros). Asked about the prize money during the trophy presentation ceremony, Fonseca spoke with a touch of humor.

Journalist: "You're only 18 years old, you've won all five matches here, which means you're taking home the sum of 500,000 dollars. What do you say to that?"

Fonseca: "I can say it doesn't hurt. I'm a young man. It's a good thing my parents are going to help me with this, because it's a lot of money."
