On March 28, 2025, Sonego announced the news regarding the end of his collaboration with Gipo Arbino. After 18 years of working together, the Piedmont native decided to part ways with his long-time coach.

While this decision surprised the public, it was the same for the person most directly involved. Arbino, who helped the Italian reach the 21st spot in the world rankings, took time to process the situation.

In an interview with Tuttosport, the Italian coach reflected on this difficult separation:

"At first, I suffered from the separation, but now I look back. The great achievements we accomplished together remain.

I still want to be involved and offer my experience. I want the players I coach to avoid the youthful mistakes we all make."

Despite everything, he holds very fond memories of their collaboration:

"My dream has always been to bring a tennis player into the top 100 in the world, and with Sonego, that became a reality.

Obviously, thanks to both of us. I experienced unforgettable moments related to all the biggest tournaments on the circuit, especially the Grand Slams.

The strongest emotions came with Lorenzo's semifinal victory in Rome, the emotions in the Davis Cup, as well as the victories against the world's best.

Specifically, those against Djokovic, Rublev, Khachanov, and Hubert Hurkacz."

A tennis player's income depends solely on his sporting results. In the event of injury, the daily life of those far from the Top 100 can become extremely complicated.

Omnipresent cameras, line judges on the verge of extinction, mistakes that persist nonetheless: technology fascinates as much as it divides. Tennis, at a crossroads, is still searching for its balance between progress and emotion.

As we move to the end of this month and also closing out the year I am wishing all of those following me a Merry Christmas and a Happy/Healthy New Year.

Let's make that wish for all 2000 plus players hoping for 5 wins each day. Hoping ŵhen we open the results page to see all green, and no red. And especially NO CANCELED matches.

From me and my rotti JAZ, I bid you all good night, and see you in...

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Chwalinska and Huergo at the Quito tournament? The match was played to completion and on time. If TT feels the match is one sided, and of course it was, then don't put it up for prediction. This is getting irritating.

The finals are here, and we scramble for the best finish. I've been chasing "King" all year and I was able to shrink the spread a little. Skelp is also closing the gap.

Seasons best to all the regulars in our league.

Will you all be back in the new year.?

Steffi Graf completed a Golden Slam (not just a career Grand Slam) when she was 19. She is the only person to accomplish that, winning the four majors plus Olympic gold the same calendar year.
