Fourth Withdrawal of the Season for Dimitrov, Injured Thigh at Roland-Garros

Weeks go by and are similar for Grigor Dimitrov. The Bulgarian, who has not been spared by his body since last season, suffered another setback during his opening match at Roland-Garros. Facing Ethan Quinn, the world's 17th-ranked player seemed to have done the hardest part by winning the first two sets.
However, after feeling pain in his thigh, Dimitrov called the physio for a medical timeout. After losing the third set, the Bulgarian, winner of the ATP Finals in 2017, decided to throw in the towel.
The 21-year-old American qualifier advances to the second round (2-6, 3-6, 6-2 retired), where he will face Alexander Shevchenko, who defeated Dusan Lajovic in straight sets (6-2, 6-4, 7-6).
Meanwhile, Dimitrov continues his period of doubt. This is already the fourth withdrawal this season for Dimitrov, who had previously retired mid-match against Jiri Lehecka in Brisbane, against Francisco Passaro at the Australian Open, and against Christopher O'Connell in Dubai. He has also withdrawn from the last four Grand Slams he participated in.
