Francisco Cerundolo: "It's a very difficult time"

Francisco Cerundolo: It's a very difficult time

Francisco Cerundolo is going through a big confidence crisis. The 22nd best player in the world has not been able to find the right rhythm since the beginning of the season. In five tournaments played, the Argentine has only won a single small match, in the 1st round of the Australian Open against Dane Sweeny, ranked 194th in the world.

A negative spiral that is necessarily complicated to manage for any tennis player. And his new poor performance in the 1st round on the clay court of Buenos Aires, on Wednesday in front of his audience, didn't help anything. Cerundolo expressed his distress on X following his defeat to his compatriot Facundo Diaz Acosta.

Cerundolo: "It's a very difficult, very sad period. I want to thank everyone who supports me and pushes me to move forward. Because in good times, everyone is there, but when you start to lose a little, it seems to be less the case. Let's continue working."
