The 100% American clash doesn't disappoint.
While Taylor Fritz seemed to be fading physically and Frances Tiafoe continued to exert intense pressure, it was the world number 12 who finally pushed his compatriot to the limit (4-6, 7-5, 4-6, 6-4).

Heavily pressured throughout the set, Fritz kept his back to the grindstone before popping up when his opponent lacked precision, to break at the most opportune moments.
With his intensity restored, Fritz believes in himself once again and could well pull off a miraculous comeback.
