Garcia and Gracheva, the Only French Women So Far Qualified for the Roland-Garros Main Draw

Similar to the men's draw, Roland-Garros has revealed the list of female players directly entered into the main draw, which will take place from May 25 to June 8 in the French capital.
As for the French players, there will be at least ten men participating (pending wild cards, one of which is expected to be awarded to Richard Gasquet for his final tournament), but the celebration won't be as lively for the women.
Indeed, at this stage, only two French women are guaranteed to compete in the second Grand Slam event on the Parisian clay, barring injuries. These are Varvara Gracheva, ranked 67th in the world, and Caroline Garcia, currently 99th.
The latter dropped out of the top 100 after Miami, a first since June 2013, and recently had to withdraw from the WTA 250 tournament in Rouen due to a back injury.
It should be noted that the tournament organizers have yet to announce which players will receive wild cards to compete either in the qualifiers or directly in the main draw. Thus, players like Léolia Jeanjean, Diane Parry, or Chloé Paquet could still be added to the participant list.
On the other hand, Alizé Cornet, who recently came out of retirement, confirmed she will not participate in this 2025 edition, while Clara Burel, who suffered a serious knee injury during the BJK Cup last weekend, will also be unavailable.
