Garcia reflects on early 2025: "My best moments on the tour are still ahead"
Caroline Garcia has won only two of her seven matches this season. Having dropped to 71st in the world rankings, the French player ended her 2024 season as early as September and is now focused on rediscovering her form.
On her official X account (formerly Twitter), Garcia shared a lengthy post to reflect on her first few months of official competition in 2025.
"It’s been three months since I returned to competition. The results? They’re not quite where I’d like them to be yet.
But I have confidence in my game and my tennis. What I’m most proud of is my mindset. Because if you had told me a year ago that I’d be here, enjoying life on the tour again, I wouldn’t have believed you.
The last two years were hell. Every day on the court felt like a nightmare. And when I left the tour in September, I truly thought it was over. That my story with tennis had come to an end.
But instead of giving up, I took a step back. I needed to understand how I got here and, more importantly, if I had a reason to keep going. And here I am. Three months later, I’m living what is, in many ways, my best year on the tour.
Not just because of the results, but because I’ve found something even more valuable: joy. On the court, yes. But also off it.
I can now spend time at tournaments without feeling anxious, have conversations with other players, record episodes with incredible guests, and use my free time to build relationships that truly matter to me.
I don’t know if my best results are still ahead. But what I do know is that my best moments on the tour are yet to come, no matter how long this journey lasts.
If you’re going through tough times, hang in there. Reach out. Speak up. There’s always a way forward, even when it seems impossible to see.
Take care of yourselves, and I’ll see you soon on the court!" Garcia wrote. She must defend the points from her quarterfinal in Miami last year to avoid dropping out of the top 100.
