Gauff Dominates Andreeva and Reaches Swiatek in Madrid Semifinals
Gauff won her quarterfinal match against Andreeva (7-5, 6-1) at the Madrid Masters 1000. She will now face Swiatek for a spot in the final.
Strong on her first serve (83% of points won), the American created no fewer than 16 break opportunities (6/16). She also secured five love games throughout the match. The 21-year-old also fought back from a 5-4 deficit and saved two set points on Andreeva’s serve.
The world No. 3 remains undefeated against the Russian and claims her 18th victory of the season.
