Trailing 6-0, Swiatek Defeats Keys in Madrid Quarterfinals

Swiatek advanced to the semifinals of the Madrid tournament by defeating Keys (0-6, 6-3, 6-2) in 1 hour and 45 minutes of play.

After a nightmarish first set for the Polish player (6-0), the 23-year-old raised her level to claim the next two sets. This was the 11th time in her career that Swiatek suffered a 6-0 loss and the first time on clay since Roland-Garros 2019 against Simona Halep (6-1, 6-0).

She secured her 10th consecutive victory in Madrid and qualified for her third straight semifinal in the Spanish capital.

For a spot in the final, the four-time Roland-Garros champion will face either Gauff or Andreeva.
