The youngest winner of the WTA Masters since a certain Maria Sharapova in 2004, Coco Gauff took the opportunity to thank the organization of the tournament, which was being played in Saudi Arabia for the first time in history.
At the trophy ceremony, the American expressed her enthusiasm for this year's event: "I would like to thank the Saudi Tennis Federation for organizing this superb tournament.
This is my first time here in Saudi Arabia and I've had a great time. It's been more fun than I expected.
Thanks also to the fans for coming out to support us. This is the first women's professional tennis tournament here in Saudi Arabia and I'm very honored to have won it."
