The conclusion of the WTA 1000 tournament in Wuhan promises to be intense and unpredictable.
Four players remain in contention at the Wuhan tournament, and all belong to the top 10. Not before 5:00 PM local time, the first semifinal will pit Coco Gauff against Jasmine Paolini. The two women have faced each other five times. The Italian leads 3-2 and has won the last three encounters against the American.
The other semifinal will immediately follow, featuring the defending champion and world number one Aryna Sabalenka against Jessica Pegula. In the last match on Center Court, the second semifinal will be held. The pair Andreescu/Yuan or the duo of Danilina/Krunic will face Siegemund/Stollar for a spot in the final.
