Gauff Praises Serena Williams: "She's One of the Most Influential People of All Time"
Winner of the 2023 US Open, Cori Gauff is considered one of the top players on the women's circuit.
A huge admirer of the legendary Serena Williams, the world No. 4 spoke about the Times' list highlighting the most influential people in the world, which includes the 23-time Grand Slam champion:
"Being one of the most influential people of all time is an incredible achievement that she truly deserves.
She has influenced millions of people, including me. Not just in tennis, but all over the world. Serena has inspired women to be strong, especially women of color.
So this is well deserved. I wasn’t surprised when I saw it," she said in comments reported by Tennis.com.
Gauff is currently competing at the WTA 500 in Stuttgart. Having reached the quarterfinals, she will face Paolini this Saturday.
