Women's tennis at Roland-Garros has been thriving in this 2025 edition. First, thanks to the incredible run of Loïs Boisson, who sparked real excitement around the player ranked 361st before the tournament began.
The final between Coco Gauff and Aryna Sabalenka also set viewership records in France, with 3.5 million viewers and a peak of 5.1 million—the highest since 2005 and the final between Justine Henin and Mary Pierce.
For comparison, in the United States, the 2023 US Open final won by Gauff against Sabalenka averaged 3.4 million viewers.
This only fuels the debate over the absence of women's night sessions in Paris.
