Grigor Dimitrov parts ways with Daniel Vallverdu: "Thank you for believing in me" — a page turns for the Bulgarian
As the 2026 season approaches rapidly, the coaching carousel continues on the ATP tour.
Following the stunning announcement from Carlos Alcaraz, who ended a seven-year collaboration with Juan Carlos Ferrero, another well-known figure on the tour has, in turn, decided to thoroughly overhaul his team's organization.
"Thank you for believing in me"
Grigor Dimitrov, whose 2025 season was disrupted by an unfortunate injury sustained at Wimbledon, has decided to end his collaboration with Daniel Vallverdu.
"Eight years! It has been an incredible journey, both on and off the court. I am grateful for the lessons, the laughter, and the shared memories.
Thank you for believing in me and constantly pushing me to give my best. You will always be a part of my story. I wish you all the best for the future," wrote the Bulgarian on his social media.
The Venezuelan coach had reunited with Dimitrov in December 2022, after a first successful collaboration between 2016 and 2019. This period notably allowed the Bulgarian to win the 2017 ATP Finals and reach the world No. 3 ranking.
