Harry Fritz, Former Pro Player and Uncle of Taylor Fritz, Passes Away at 74

Canadian tennis and the Fritz family are in mourning. Former professional player Harry Fritz, born in the United States and holding dual citizenship with Canada, passed away this Friday, May 2, at the age of 74.
He holds the record for the longest Davis Cup match in terms of total games played (100 in total). This occurred during a tie between Canada—the country where he settled and represented after marrying Margaret Ann Govan—and Venezuela. He emerged victorious after a six-hour battle, defeating former world No. 66 Jorge Andrew with a score of 16-14, 11-9, 9-11, 4-6, 11-9.
Harry Fritz was the uncle of Taylor Fritz, currently ranked No. 4 in the ATP rankings. Tennis Canada paid a brief tribute to him, describing a man "known for his fighting spirit, passion for tennis, and dedication to the sport," who inspired "many players and coaches through his humility and sportsmanship."
