Having become a mother fifteen months ago, Bencic returns to the Grand Slam quarterfinals at Wimbledon

Belinda Bencic continues to impress since her return to competition late last year after giving birth to her daughter, Bella.
The Swiss player started the year with a Round of 16 finish at the Australian Open, a title in Abu Dhabi, and a quarterfinal at Indian Wells. However, she faced a slight setback during the clay court season, having to withdraw from Roland-Garros.
On the grass courts of Wimbledon, where she played her Round of 16 match on Monday for the third time in her career.
Bencic and Alexandrova faced off again just two weeks after their previous encounter, which had gone in favor of the Russian (6-1, 6-2) in Bad Homburg.
This time, the former world No. 4 got her revenge, winning 7-6, 6-4 in 1 hour and 56 minutes. She still had to wait for her sixth match point to seal the victory, after missing five on her serve at 5-3.
She advances to the tournament's quarterfinals for the first time in her career at the age of 28. She now awaits the name of her next opponent, either Mirra Andreeva or Emma Navarro.
