He doesn’t accompany me to tournaments; he’s not my coach in the strict sense," Rune clarifies his collaboration with Agassi
Since the Washington tournament, Holger Rune has decided to work with Andre Agassi. However, he clarified in a press conference that the American would not be traveling with him to tournaments.
He stated: "We got in touch after Roland-Garros. We called each other, talked, and discussed the possibility of spending a few days together.
I was very interested in his thoughts on my game, his vision, and how he could help me. Of course, three days won’t change everything, but it was an incredible experience to hear his perspective.
We talked a lot and worked well on the court. He doesn’t travel with me to tournaments—he’s not my coach in the strict sense—but we stay in touch.
He’s an extraordinary person, and I have a lot of respect for his vision of tennis—it’s incredible. His career is also impressive, of course. I’ve watched many of his matches and respect him immensely.
I have my usual coach, Lars (Christensen), who does most of the work. He’s simply amazing. I respect and appreciate him. He’s played a key role in the person I’ve become. I’m not going to change anything.
